Another season another manager sacked in what has become a annual tradition where everyone discusses who will Roman turn to next? Or will in fact he give the fans the man they want and beg Mourinho to make a dramatic return.
Did AVB truly deserve the sack? Has anything changed in the last 9months that makes Chelsea a appealing challenge or in fact is the reputation been so badly affected that it's a dead end job.
AVB came in and found in front of him an ageing squad who are still hung up on his former boss The Special One. He wanted to implement change both to the playing staff and the style of football which pleased Roman but not the old guard. And as we now know he didn't get a chance to see through his changes in fact he didn't get any time
The next Chelsea manager will still need to make major changes and are still likely to be met with distain from played such as Lampard. Even Mourinho himself would look at the squad and ask for hundreds of millions to implement changes.
So who fancies the challenge of an owner who expects changes whilst still winning trophies and a squad who are ageing and perhaps short of drive? Who knows it could be anyone!! Maybe even Roman himself!
